The Power of an Added Voice to Marketing

The Power of an Added Voice to Marketing

In the world of marketing, there’s no such thing as a crazy idea, nor is there any concept of too much and too many. With so many products and concepts coming out everyday, the competition’s tough and there’s no such thing as using only one strategy for getting yourself heard or seen. This is the reason why we see a billboard of that newest smartphone on the freeway, hear about it on the radio, see endorsements from stars in a TV commercial and read about it on a blog.

The best way to sell a product is to make it known to the target market, seen and heard about everywhere those targets hang out… hence the billboard’s not enough and could just burn cash fast if that’s all you do. We may also need to have radio, TV or online video commercials, and someone definitely needs to write about it on his blog or post a picture of it on Instagram.  The basic truth is that you need to reach out to the public, and you can’t do it with just one medium. The best strategy is connect into a variety of integrated options.

All this is part of target marketing, and the beauty with today’s consumers is that you have a number of ways to reach out, even those from the smallest sectors of the market. Lately, blogs have emerged as one key marketing strategy of both start-ups and larger companies and organisations. There’s the power of the written word, the power of images, and for the more innovative, the power of the voice.

Audio target marketing has become an increasingly popular element for marketing in blogs to complement blog posts and offer other means of sharing information. A common practice of audio target marketing is through podcasts that people can download and listen to. You can record an audio version of your blog post and upload it as a podcast for your blog followers. You can also only choose specific parts of your blog post that you can turn into a podcast, such as that portion talking about the features of that newest smartphone.

But why practice audio target marketing?

From the marketing perspective, audio target marketing is an alternative strategy to reach out to other sectors of your market. That podcast in your blog, for example, can be used to target those who don’t have the time to read and those who are visually incapacitated. It’s a great way to let them know about a product or a service without having to require them to sit down and read.

The second other reason is that the voice can add a more personal touch to almost anything. Your consumers may be swayed with the convincing words in that blog post or the images in that product poster, but they become even more attuned to the product once they hear a voice that describes the product to them. It makes the product or the service more real, more relatable, and more personal. Who wasn’t ever drawn to a soothing voice on the radio?

If any, all those billboards and ads say one thing: There’s not one way to reach out to your consumers in the market. Audio target marketing is one of those ways that you can lend a better identity to your product and make it more personal to your consumers.
